So I was curious how different conferences fared in the bowl season, so I created this conference recap. There are a lot of factors that could skew standings one way or the other so I just had a few variables with the different results. No system is perfect, but this isn’t half bad. CONCLUSION
I created a point scale to measure performance across the various results to give my Bowl Season performance ranking system. Points are awarded according to the following scale:
Overall results points are awarded as such (1st – 11 pts, 2nd – 10 pts, 3rd – 9 pts, etc)
Vs BCS AQ Opponents points are awarded as such (2 pts per win vs a BCS Opponent)
Vs Non-BCS AQ Opponents points are awarded as such (-2 pts per loss vs a Non-BCS Opponent)
BCS Games points are awarded as such (5 pts for each conf appearance in BCS Game, 5 pts for each BCS Game win)
